Terms for the free trial.
A lawyer has not reviewed these terms yet. By using a Lahja key you agree to them. Questions go to bassam@bassame.com.
The service
Lahja is an API that serves an open-weight chat model with an Arabic dialect setting. During the trial we provide it as is, free of charge, up to 1,000,000 tokens per key. The model can be wrong, can misjudge a dialect, and can produce offensive text. Check its output before you show it to your users.
Acceptable use
Don't use Lahja to:
- create or spread content that is illegal where you or your users are;
- harass, defraud or impersonate people;
- overload, probe or scrape the service, or get around its limits, for example by creating many keys;
- resell raw access to the API, or share your key outside your team.
Building a product on top of Lahja and charging your own users for it is fine.
Keys
Keep your key secret. You are responsible for requests made with it. We may suspend or revoke a key that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. When we can, we will email you first.
No uptime promise
The trial has no service-level agreement. The model shuts down after about 20 minutes without traffic and takes a few minutes to start again. We may change models, limits or features, or pause the service.
Your content
You own what you send and what the model returns to you. We don't store it, as the privacy draft explains, and we don't train on it.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for the free trial is limited to US$100.
Changes and payment
We will email you before these terms change and before paid pricing starts. We never charge without your explicit OK.
